Going to the Next Level

God has been doing something in my heart over the last 30 days. I am refocusing, I am making some decisions that need to be made. I have a renewed passion for my life, my ministry, my family and my church. I sense that God is up to something. I am ready to go to the next level. I have been thinking what it is going to take for me and for you to go to the next level.

I. Move Past Your Past
Whether it?s been good or bad, you have to move on. Paul says to let go of the things that are behind and look forward. Let go of the things that have held you back or have held you down.

II. Embrace the Future
Charles Kettering said, ?My interest in the future is because I am going to spend the rest of my life there.? God has an amazing future for you. ?The best is yet to come? is not just a cute little saying but a mandate. Get excited about your future?God is!

III. Be the Right Person Now
Make the decisions that you know you need to make. Zig Ziglar says, ?the best guarantee of a great tomorrow is a good today.? Pray, be in the word, be filled with God?s spirit and dress in the armor of God every day. Deliver what you promise.

IV. Develop the Skills You Need
What books do you need to be reading?
What people do you need to be spending time with?
What conferences or seminars should you be attending?
Be proactive. Take the initiative and start moving in the direction of your dream and goals.

V. Stay the Course
It will get tough. You will feel like quitting! Stay the course. Stay focused. Be committed. Persevere through the obstacles. You can do it. It will happen for you if you stay the course.

  1. pastor steve,
we are staying the course here in little ole millington! God has and always keeps his promises. we are keeping our promises to him and trying our best to be as faithful to him as he has been to us. its been an interesting journey the past 9 months and he has grown us more than if things were going smoothly. we are convinced he can speak and grow you much more in the valleys! Praise his almighty name!! sure its not been a bed of roses but we are movin’ on and giving him the glory daily! God bless.
    love ya’ and miss ya’
p.s. i thank God almost every day for his salvation and putting you in my path to explain that salvation. it will be 10 years ago oct. 11! can you believe it?

  2. Pastor Steve,

That has really inspired me to dothe things that I need to do to continue with my life. Every since I took that giant step into the future and signed my life away to the United States Marines, I have wanted to quite so many times because it is hard and it is challenging but this tells me that i need to overcome my fear of boot camp and what might happen while I am there and just tough it out because this is what I am doing with my life because this is what God wants for me. Yes, it might be hard at times but that does not mean that I need to quit.
