I have a question for you today…how are you going to make your dreams come true?
Here are the first four out of seven things you must do to make your dreams come true…
I. You Have to Have a Dream
Robert Orben once said, “Always remember there are only two kinds of people in this world – The realist and the dreamer. The realists know where they’re going – The dreamers have already been there!”
A visionary named Walt Disney had a dream to build theme parks . He dreamed of building one in Orlando. We have all heard of Disney World! He died before the opening and a man said, “I wish Walt Disney could have seen this.” Walt Disney’s wife was to speak next She said, ‘He did see it’ and sat down
II. You Must Have The Right Mentality.
You must think right. How you think is everything. Think positively, think about success, not negatively, not about failure. You must believe in yourself! You can do anything! A low belief in yourself creates an invisible ceiling that stops you from attempting to progress beyond your self-imposed limitations. On the other hand, if you strongly believe in your ability to achieve success, then sky’s the limit.
How do you change your mentality if you don’t think right? By the people you meet, the places you go and the books you read. Each of these will help you change your mentality.
There are 4 kinds of people in everyone’s life. Those who: Add, Subtract, Divide and Multiply. Make sure that you hang around those people who add value and multiply you.
III. You Must Have a Strong Work Ethic
There are many lazy people in the world today. Being lazy will never take you anywhere or help you accomplish anything.
Thomas Edison was known for working hard. He set tough goals for himself. One of his goals was to come up with a major new invention every 6 months and a minor one every 10 days. When Edison died, he had 1,093 US patents and 2,000 foreign ones.
You must be willing to work hard. Dreams don’t work unless you do!
IV. You Must Be Willing To Take a Risk
There are many ways to become a failure, but never taking a chance is the most successful one. Some people never take risks because they are afraid to fail.
Life is too short not to step out there and take a risk. Harrold Macmillan said it right when he said, “To be alive at all – involves risks”
