Weathering the Storm

Have you watched the news over the past few days? 29 states are being affected by bad weather. Snow is falling and the bread and the milk are disappearing off the shelves! Many people are weathering the storm.

Many of you are weathering a different kind of storm…

We all have learned that life is full of difficulties, disappointments and distress. We all go through those times that are seemingly unbearable. We feel cold tired and alone.

Worry, fretting, anxiety, stress, heartbreak and headaches – these are just a few words that come to my mind when I reflect on the deep storms in life. During these tough times, our emotions can get the best of us. If you are not careful, your emotions will master you and the decisions that you make will have some really bad consequences. I have had my share of storms, failure, disappointments and major discouragement.

We cannot control what happens on the outside of us but we can control what happens on the inside. Victory always comes from within. Your inner strength and reliance on God will be greater than your outward circumstances if you have a surrendered heart. Your heart connected to Jesus is the key to victory when your in the storm.

The only way you can weather the storm is to trust in the one who can calm it or bring peace in the midst of it.

In the meantime:

What is God teaching you?
What is God telling you?
What does God want you to do now?

Hang in there! Hold on for dear life…you WILL weather this storm!
