We all have learned that life is full of difficulties, disappointments and distress. We all go through those times that are seemingly unbearable.
Have you ever been stopped in your tracks and stunned by a situation that totally shook your world?
Maybe your spouse said, “I’m done” or maybe bankruptcy is on the horizon staring you in the face. Maybe your health is declining or you are facing a serious physical condition. Maybe a loved one committed suicide and you are trying to pick up the shattered pieces of your life.
The truth is, life isn’t fair many times. We all face pain, struggles, frustration and disappointment.
It seems this last week has been one of those weeks that I will remember for a long time.
It started with the news that my mother-in-law, Bernice has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s…wow! Bernice has always been one of the toughest ladies that I have ever known. She is fiercely protective of her family and she does not mind sharing her opinion on things. To watch her become so frail and confused has been heart breaking.
Then we received a phone call on Saturday evening that my sister in law in N.C. had taken her life. That was like a punch in the stomach. My family is devastated…my brother is hurting so badly. We dearly loved Suzanne, she was a precious lady who touched so many lives. And now, she is gone…
These things have shaken our family but I am grateful we serve a God who holds the whole world in his hands. Hug your loved ones tightly; take the opportunity to spend time with them and say, “I love you” every chance you get. Things can change in a second.
Your world may be shaken but lean on the one who will hold you steady!
