Mitzrayim

Yesterday we continued our study in the life of Joseph. We talked about him heading down to Egypt. The Hebrew word for Egypt is “Mitzrayim.” It means: a tight place; to shut in; to limit; to border in. Most of us can relate to being in a tight place.

Is your life filled with fear, anxiety, frustration or a sense of just feeling overwhelmed? Do you ever think “I don’t know what I am going to do.” “How am I going to make it through this?” Ever feel like things are closing in on you ?

Everything seems to be coming at you at once…bills you cannot pay, addictions you cannot break, family members who have lost their way and other situations that you cannot control. Where do you go and what do you do?

Are you in that tight place and you need help? The word “trouble” in the Bible in many places is translated “tight places.” Are you in that tight place of trouble right now? Where are you going to run?

Yesterday we sang, Forever Reign by Hillsong:

“Oh, I’m running to Your arms, I’m running to Your arms, the riches of Your love will always be enough"

Proverbs 18:10 says, “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe.” Run into His arms! He is strong, He is sufficient and He is your Savior.

No matter how tight that place gets for you, no matter how uncomfortable, no matter how frustrated, tired or cramped you may get, God can make some room for you. God is enlarging you in that tight place.Trust Him in those tight places.

Your willingness to embrace the pain of enlargement will determine the width, breadth, length, depth of your relationship with God.
