This Sunday at New Season, we will have a Solemn Assembly…a time of seeking the Lord; a time for inner reflection and repentance. We must seek after HIM!
The Bible is very clear in commanding us to seek and know God.
“If from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find Him if you look for Him with all your heart and with all your soul” (Deuteronomy 4:29).
“Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the LORD is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other” (Deuteronomy 4:39)
David told his son Solomon, “Acknowledge the God of your father, and serve Him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever” (1 Chronicles 28:9).
God commands, “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).
“Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice. Look to the LORD and His strength; seek His face always” (Psalm 105:3-4).
“Seek the LORD while He may be found; call on Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him, and to our God, for He will freely pardon” (Isaiah 55:6-7).
“ ‘You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart. I will be found by you,’ declares the LORD” (Jeremiah 29:13)
A.W Tozier said, “Without doubt, the mightiest thought the mind can entertain is the thought of God, and the weightiest word in any language is its word for God. What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.“
If at all possible, join us this Sunday as we seek the Lord. If you cannot be at New Season, then I encourage you to seek God on your own, wherever you are. Your life will never be the same!
