There is no doubt that this day brings many emotions.
I remember exactly where I was when the planes hit and the Twin Towers went down. Vickie and I were in Dallas, Texas; I was preaching a Revival at a church there and we were staying with good friends. He woke us with the news that a plane had hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City.
As if that wasn’t horrible enough, as we sat glued to the television, we saw the second Tower hit and then news came that another plane had gone down in a field in Pennsylvania while another plane had hit the Pentagon.
So many lives were lost on that tragic day. So much devastation and a dark cloud settled over our nation. I have said it before, The United States lost it’s innocence on September 11, 2001. We will never forget that day. It brings painful memories to us a nation.
Many people began to seek God after this tragedy. Tragedy drew people to God and lives were changed.
Thank God it is not always a tragedy that creates an acknowledgement for a need for Him. New Season Church will be seeking God this month in a big way! We are asking God to see 100 people saved and baptized in the month of October at all three campuses. We will have a special time of prayer and fasting(details coming )
The Bible is very clear in commanding us to seek and know God.
If from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find Him if you look for Him with all your heart and with all your soul” (Deuteronomy 4:29). Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the LORD is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other” (Deuteronomy 4:39)
David told his son Solomon, “Acknowledge the God of your father, and serve Him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever” (1 Chronicles 28:9).
God commands, “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).
Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice. Look to the LORD and His strength; seek His face always” (Psalm 105:3-4).
“Seek the LORD while He may be found; call on Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him, and to our God, for He will freely pardon” (Isaiah 55:6-7).
“You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart. I will be found by you,’ declares the LORD” (Jeremiah 29:13)
Get ready to seek Him!
