#11 – Procrastination
The root word for procrastination is to castrate which means to “cut off life.” I am not going to go into any more detail on that!
Think about when you procrastinate…you are cutting off life. Cutting off opportunities in your own life. “Procrastination is opportunity’s natural assassin.”
You need to have that quote and definition burned in your brain. Go ahead and make it your Facebook status, Tweet it, put it on a 3 x 5 card. Get it tattooed on your body. Put it where you can see it for the next 60 days so it becomes a part of your thinking and your doing.
How many opportunities have you missed because of your inability to follow through? IE: procrastination.
One definition found in the Urban Dictionary defines procrastination as, “to be lazy and not do things until the last minute”.
Wow, are you careless or lazy?
Be honest. I know it hurts. I am thinking of my own missed opportunities because I “was going to do it tomorrow or next week”. I, like you have a case of the “somedays.”
Why do we procrastinate? Is it a lack of purpose and mission. Is it because we have a rotten attitude or no clearly defined goals, or we just lack focus and don’t have our priorities in order?
Maybe we’re afraid so we don’t take any action. Whatever it is that’s keeping you from pulling the trigger, deal with it!
Procrastination is killing you – it’s cutting off the life and opportunity that God has for you. Procrastination will cause you a tremendous amount of grief.
What would you accomplish today, this week, this next year if you eliminate procrastination from your life? What causes you to procrastinate? I would love to hear from you!
Go ahead! Take a moment and think about why you procrastinate. Now, let me hear from you.
What are you waiting for?
