Summer time in our churches is supposed to be slow, dull and uneventful. That is why they call it a “summer slump.” I can’t explain it and we did little to create it but at New Season, we are in the midst of a move of God. The Holy Spirit is moving at New Season Church. There is a fire, an expectancy, and an anointing from the Spirit that is sweeping across our church. The Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity is alive and well at New Season.
The Holy Spirit convicts:
John 16:8 – “And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.”
People are getting saved.
The Holy Spirit guides us into truth:
John 16:13 – “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”
People are learning the Bible.
The Holy Spirit leads believers:
Romans 8:14 – “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.”
Galatians 5:18 – “But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.”
Acts 8:29 – “Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go near and overtake this chariot.”
We just had two ladies leave for a year in El Salvador.
The Holy Spirit gives spiritual power:
Acts 1:8 – “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Galatians 5:16- “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”
People are living in victory.
The Holy Spirit testifies of Jesus:
John 15: 26 – “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.”
John 16:14 – “He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.”
Jesus is being lifted up!
The Holy Spirit intercedes for us:
Romans 8:26-27 – “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”
Thank God for this truth!
The Holy Spirit works miracles:
Acts 8:39 – “Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, so that the eunuch saw him no more; and he went on his way rejoicing.”
We are seeing the miraculous.
The Holy Spirit speaks to our churches:
Revelation, chapters 2 and 3…
He is speaking to our church.
The Holy Spirit is mentioned 85 times in the Old Testament and three times as much in the New Testament.
We have seen people saved, addictions broken, marriages restored and God filled worship experiences. I am grateful for the good hand of God on the ministry of New Season.
Holy Spirit, we empty ourselves so that we can be filled with you. We thank you that we are in the midst of a move of God.
