Ephesians 5:23 and 25 says, “For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her”
Wow, that it a tall order for any man, no doubt. But God would never command us to do something that He would not give us the ability to fulfill.
God has placed the man over the woman. God has put the man over the spiritual leadership in the home…we are called to lead. Unfortunately, many men are abdicating their roles, being passive and laying down.
I Corinthians, 11:3 says, “But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.” This passage reveals that God has established the priority of order in all of life’s relationships.
In the Christian home, God’s order is clear. God has called the man to lead. It’s time we take our place in God’s order and lead our families.
Paul just doesn’t say we should lead, he says we should love. Remember your marriage is an illustration of the relationship between Christ and His church. We are commanded by God to love our wives – to care for them and to cherish them. When we love our wives, they will feel great security and if you have children, they will senses that same security,
Men, we must show our wives our love…not just in our words but through our actions.
So Paul gives us a very tall order indeed. If we will lead and love, it will make a difference in our marriage and homes. Let’s lead and love!
