New Season Church is experiencing an extreme makeover because of the incredible generosity of God’s people. We raised a little over $40,000 recently – WOW! God’s people, kingdom minded accomplishing kingdom initiatives. It is so true that teamwork makes the dream work!

      Ephesians 3:20 says, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” Did you notice the last part of that verse – “according to the power that works in us?” Sovereign God has chosen to limit himself to work through us. Aren’t you grateful that we get to partner with God?

Too many Christians have treated God’s church as if it was a movie theater, complete with padded seats and popcorn. Many are content to just sit back and watch the show.

      I am grateful for the generosity of New Season people, not only in giving the resources but also of their time. We have had hundreds of people serving and working during this makeover. Jesus is performing miracle after miracle in our midst! Every day something else happens and God shows Himself strong in and through the people of New Season. Thanks to each of you for making a difference! The extreme makeover is happening not only in walls being built, carpet or tile being laid but an extreme makeover is taking place on the inside in peoples’ hearts as well.

New Season, you’re the best…thank you!

This year we are celebrating the season with three special services on Christmas Eve. The times will be 2:00, 4:00 and 6:00 pm. This will be an incredible time for the whole family to experience a time of reflection, inspiration and celebration. This is also one of the best opportunities for you to invite people to attend with you. Mail them one of our Christmas Invitation cards that we have available or give them a ticket to one of the Christmas Eve services.

I realize that you know that I preach the gospel every single Sunday at New Season but Christmas Eve will be intense, intentional and focused on what the season is actually about. This is not about church attendance, it’s about eternity. People are either saved or lost and many are very open to hear about Jesus during this time of year. Maybe you have invited the same person a thousand times and they always tell you “no.” Well, this could be the time when they say “yes!”

Every single relationship that you have on this planet is for the purpose of telling people about Christ. Evangelism isn’t the great suggestion, it’s a command – Go Tell! Did I mention that the gospel will be preached in each of our Christmas Eve services? Inviting and bringing people to a place they can meet Jesus is a part of evangelism.

Can you imagine if each of us who attend New Season brought two people to church for one of our Christmas Eve services at 2, 4 or 6 pm…we would have thousands of people who would hear the gospel! Many would accept Christ and become believers. You would have a part in that through your invitation, your prayers and your concern!

Give out tons of tickets and postcards and pray and believe. Christmas…Emmanuel…God with us…Let’s tell the world and watch God change lives for all eternity!

My life purpose is to make plain the gospel so that people can enter into a relationship with Christ and grow to their full potential.

God led me to launch a non-profit organization called “Over the Wall” that has a commitment to radically transform the spiritual condition of the world and the landscape of the local church through growth, development and impact.

My Pastor put in me a love for other pastors. It thrills me to see a pastor filled with vision for his life and his church. A vision for the kingdom of God! Right now I am working with six pastors (my limit is seven) in a coaching, consulting, encouraging relationship.
We started Over the Wall Ministries to give back what God has poured in. As I said earlier, Over the Wall is a non-profit organization. It exists by gifts from individuals and churches, and through the various resources that we offer such as CDs, DVDs and devotional books.
Please pray for Over the Wall Ministries. It is exciting for me to watch God doing some amazing things through this ministry.

Last night I attended a party to celebrate 25 years of ministry at First Baptist Church Woodstock for my pastor, friend, mentor, “older brother”, “father” and life- long ministry partner, Dr. Johnny Hunt. This Sunday he & Mrs. Janet will celebrate serving for 25 years at First Baptist.

The whole night was honoring Janet for her faithful service to Woodstock, Pastor Johnny, & our Lord Jesus. Janet is a great lady who is one of the most real people you will ever meet. They are certainly a dynamic couple. I love the Hunt’s. I love my Pastor.

I have always said that Johnny Hunt is one in a billion (not million!). There are not seven people on the planet like him. Johnny Hunt is one of the greatest encouragers that I know. He has the ability to inspire you, motivate you and challenge you all at once. After spending just a few moments with him, I find myself ready to change the world.

Pastor Johnny baptized me 26 years ago after I received Christ in Wilmington, N.C. I soon surrendered to preach under his ministry and he later ordained me. He gave me my first opportunity in ministry and he has remained a great friend and supporter to my family and I through the good and the bad times. Johnny Hunt is a rare jewel.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Every great institution is the lengthened shadow of a single man.” That statement is so true of the great First Baptist Church of Woodstock. Johnny’s leadership in pastoring is known all over the world, yet he would quickly bestow credit to others on his staff. But once again, great leaders recognize, select and equip people and Pastor Johnny has certainly done that. The challenge of all leaders is to create change and to facilitate growth. Pastor Johnny has not only done that in his individual life, but in the life of his team at Woodstock. Much growth and change has happened in the past 25 years.

Anyone who knows Pastor Johnny knows that he lives for others . His life has been dedicated to: the Great Commandment – love God and others and to the Great Commission. Few people can say with the Apostle Paul, “Follow me as I follow Christ.” Pastor Johnny can say that with integrity. We follow him because he reminds us of Jesus…always giving of himself to help someone else. Mother Teresa was often quoted as saying “ a life not lived for others is not a life.” Johnny Hunt’s life is about others. I know of no-one that is more giving, more selfless, more caring and compassionate, more loving than Pastor Johnny.

We all know the goal in life is not to live forever…the goal in life is to create something that will live forever. Johnny Hunt has not only done that in the church but in the lives of thousands of individuals. I am grateful to be one of those lives that have been changed.

Words can never truly express my gratitude and my love to my friend and Pastor, Johnny Hunt. Tears flow down my face as I write this because I know what kind of friend this man has been and the investment that he has made in my life. Congratulations on 25 faithful, amazing, years at First Baptist Woodstock. The best is yet to come. Thanks for living for others.
